Who are you?
What are your goals and ideals?
What do you stand for? If it is nothing then, as the saying goes, you will fall for anything.
We hold opinions about all aspects of our lives but if we examine our staunch beliefs are they really our own? Do they deserve the effort we put into defending them?
Life is easier when you go along with the crowd but have you ever wondered who is leading and where everyone is being led too? What if you found out that the destination is not somewhere you wanted to go? Would you turn your own way? Do you even know what that is?
How much time are you taking to contemplate your automatic actions and responses? Do you believe that you are too busy? What have you allowed to consume so much of your time that you have no space?
Do you not deserve special consideration?
So many of us hold great discomfort around taking care and paying attention to ourselves. Self-love is a common phrase yet uncommon in practice and on the few occasions we decide to commit to it we feel uncomfortable, guilty, selfish.
To always be giving out and not replenishing is to eventually be running on empty and having nothing to offer. Knowing who you are and that you regularly pay attention to yourself creates strength and self-confidence that attracts what you need. You can contribute without resentment or martyrdom.
Get to know who you are, what you want and need and fill yourself up.
There is nothing to pour from an empty cup.
